The Friends of the York County Library holds four book sales each year. More than 10,000 books for adults and children are included in every sale, as well as audio-visual materials. Materials are sorted by category and are priced as follows:
Hardcover and softcover books for adults and children - $2.00 per inch, measuring the height of the book stack
Mass market paperbacks – 50¢ each
VHS tapes - $1.00 each
DVDs and audiobooks - $2.00 each
All materials are half price on Saturday.
These prices reflect the first price increase at the Friends of the York County Library book sales in 6 ½ years. Due to numerous budget cuts, the library needs your help now more than ever. All book sale proceeds benefit York County Library programs. Call (803) 981-5837 for more information.

Sales are held at First ARP Church gymnasium, 201 E. White Street, Rock Hill, SC.
The gym is located behind the church, on Oakland Avenue.
Opening night for Friends members:
Thursday, 5-8 p.m. Friends members only; annual memberships may be purchased or
renewed at the door, beginning at $10 for individuals and $25 for families.
Public Sale: Friday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday is half-price day!
Holiday Sale: Sunday, December 5, 3:30-5 p.m., York County Library, Rock Hill
Do some Christmas shopping for the book lovers on your list at this special book sale. Choose from holiday titles,
children's books, autographed works, audio books, and much more! Prices begin at $2.00. This activity is part of

Friends members are invited to the annual meeting and sale preview at 2:30 p.m.
The sale opens to the public from 3:30-5 p.m.
On-Going Book Sales
Donated books are also sold year-round at the Main Library in Rock Hill, the York Public Library, the Fort Mill Public Library, and the Clover Public Library. Books are in excellent, "gently used" condition, with most priced in the $4-5 range. This includes titles for adults and children, including autographed and large print copies, videos, and audio books.
