Library Card

York County Library items can be picked up, returned or requested at any York County Library location. Please keep your library card in a safe place, as you are responsible for items checked out on your card. Report stolen cards immediately. See the Library Card Information for types of library cards, how to check out and place holds on items, and overdue fine rates.

Library card applications can be picked up at any York Count Library location and are also available to download. To get a library card, please bring the completed application and proof of your current address (driver's license, checkbook, paycheck stub) to any library location.

A child may receive a library card regardless of age as long as the card is signed by a parent or legal guardian. The signature serves as an agreement that the child abides by the policies and procedures established by the library.

Persons who live, work, or own property in York County receive a library card for free; others may be required to pay a usage fee. Make sure to read the Library Card Policy prior to turning in the application.
