The Bookmobile makes bi-weekly stops to county communities. It carries over 3,000 books, magazines, videos, and audio books to adults and children in York County. Requests may be made for specific books or materials not currently carried on the bookmobile. Service is also offered to such groups as daycare facilities, after-school groups, and homebound residents. Children's story times are offered on a limited basis.

Children's Services provides a full range of books, magazines, audio books, videos, and DVDs suitable for children from infancy through age 12. Specialty programming, such as weekly story times, after-school events, storytelling and services to parents or adults who work with children are also available. Children's outreach services are offered to child care providers, schools, and other agencies working with children.


Computer Services

The York County Library offers public computers with Internet access, online databases, and software for adults and children. In addition to six "Express Terminals" for brief Internet access, the Main Library provides the Technology Center for computer users and classes. A second, smaller Technology Center is located at the Fort Mill Public Library. The York County Library provides an Interlibrary Loan service (ILL) for books, articles from periodicals, master's theses, and other materials that are lost or not in the library system. Items borrowed may come from other libraries throughout the Southeast. For more details, see our

Meeting Rooms

All York County Library locations (except for the main library in Rock Hill) have a meeting room for use free of charge by non-profit organizations or community groups. Rooms may not be used for commercial purposes. Contact the individual library to reserve a meeting space. Young Adult Services serves youth ages 12-18 with teen-oriented books, magazines, and programs, such as the Teen Internet Cafe and the Teen Advisory Board.
